Baanto™ to Display Ground breaking 2D/3D Tracking Technology at CES, Las Vegas

Mississauga, Ontario, January 6th, 2010 – Baanto™ Inc. will be demonstrating a revolutionary new 2D and 3D optical tracking technology at CES in Las Vegas, January 8th to 11th. The systems, which are based on a breakthrough in optical sensor technology and their application to tracking, are capable of producing highly effective and accurate tracking of active or passive objects at a cost well below that of systems currently on the market. Although tracking systems have been in existence for some time, the existing implementations are both over complex and typically extremely expensive, putting them outside of the reach of many low – cost applications that would benefit greatly from such technology.

Based on a proprietary imaging technology, Baanto™ tracking technology is capable of accurately measuring the position of a given object by tracking its “shadow”. By determining the relative angle and other characteristics of the shadow cast by an object, the object’s position in space can be accurately fixed. The simplicity and effectiveness of Baanto technology offers significant advantages over competing technologies across a range of applications.

Showing of the technology will be limited to invitation only at a private suite at CES. Selected organisations and individuals from the technology world will be attending demonstrations of prototypes of products designed for use in Touch Screens, Gaming, Interactive Whiteboards and Rehabilitation.

Baanto™ is a Canadian corporation, based in Mississauga, Ontario that is marketing a revolutionary new tracking technology that can be used in a variety of 2D and 3D applications. The product will produce highly accurate results at a cost well below that of systems currently on the market.

Baanto™ was established by Nytric Ltd in 2009 for the purpose of commercialization of the proprietary motion capture technology invented by them, and which is now the core of Baanto™ products. Patent assignment and IP transfer from Nytric to Baanto™ was completed Q4, 2009, with 6 patent filings completed and a further 22 in process.
