Baanto Partners with Apek to Bring ShadowSense to South America

Las Vegas, NV, InfoComm16, Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth C7150 – Baanto International Ltd., the innovators of ShadowSenseTM touch technology, announced today that they have partnered with Apek, a developer of turn-key solutions for interactive systems using multi-touch technologies, to offer ShadowSense powered touchscreens to the South American market.

To address the growing demand for a high performance multi-touch interface that has the versatility to excel in diverse applications, Apek looked to Baanto and their ShadowSense touch technology. ShadowSense, along with its configuration tool Dashboard, gives users the ability to customize the touch experience, ensuring that the touchscreen performs optimally whether it’s in a boardroom or a shopping mall. Apek will integrate ShadowSense into its Maxpad Pro touch TV product line, starting with a brand new 48” model. This will be followed by 32” and 65” models. In addition, Apek will be offering its integration services to companies wanting to add ShadowSense to their own applications throughout Brazil, Latin America and Mexico.

“For the next generation of our Maxpad Pro, we wanted a touch solution that offers customers the quality and performance expected in a professional product”, said Rafael Tonelli, Director of Innovation. ”The ability of ShadowSense to recognize and differentiate between a stylus, eraser and fingers is critical to the success of the Maxpad as we introduce it to corporate boardrooms and huddle spaces, where ease of use and writing performance are paramount.” Mr. Tonelli continued to say, “ShadowSense also offers additional benefits such as ambient light immunity and fluid rejection which are key when using the Maxpad with our Trackmall wayfinding and Organnics medical imaging software.”

“We are excited to partner with Apek to offer ShadowSense powered touchscreens to the South American market”, said Avanindra Utukuri, CEO and CTO of Baanto International. “With the success of the Maxpad Pro, Apek has shown that they have the industry expertise and manufacturing capacity to help bring ShadowSense to a wider audience. We look forward to working with Apek to expand the adoption of ShadowSense and to bringing value to users looking for a better, and more dependable touch experience.”
