MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO – Baanto International Ltd., the company behind the innovative ShadowSenseTM touch technology, announced today that touchscreen industry veteran and former CEO of NextWindow, Al Monro, has been appointed to the Board of Directors.
Al Monro joins the Board of Directors effective immediately. He brings with him an immense amount of knowledge from his tenure as CEO of optical touchscreen company NextWindow. During his career with NextWindow, Al grew the business from 2 employees and no revenue to in excess of 140 staff and US$46M in sales, making them one of the biggest players in the industry. NextWindow was acquired by interactive whiteboard developer SMART Technologies in 2010. Al’s industry knowledge and strategic expertise will be invaluable to the continued success of Baanto.

Since leaving SMART Technologies in late 2011, Al has been working with expansion-stage technology companies as an advisor or director, and helping them to put strategies in place to grow globally. Prior to NextWindow, Al spent 18 years with IBM in New Zealand and Asia in a number of sales, marketing, business management and leadership roles.
