IBC/AMSTERDAM, September 9th, 2011 –Developed exclusively for Christie® MicroTiles™, and following the success encountered at InfoComm 2011 by the ‘Graffiti Wall’, Christie will be demonstrating a unique “Touch Environment” solution at IBC to show how interactive multi-touch can be used to bring a new dimension to sports commentary in a broadcast studio set concept. The Interactivity Kit differs from other gesture and touch based systems currently on the market offering much faster responses times and up to 16 gestures pointing across the canvas at any one time.
The solution combines Christie’s award-winning MicroTiles reconfigurable seamless display technology with true multi-touch ShadowSense technology developed by Baanto International.
The Baanto, ShadowSense Interactivity Kit, developed exclusively for Christie MicroTiles, is the only fully self configuring and fully scalable (from 19″ up to 340″+) multi-touch and gesture recognition product on the market today. Able to take advantage of the reconfigurable and scalable nature of Christie MicroTiles, the Touch Environment has been developed to accommodate many different applications and styles for large screen interactivity in both broadcast and corporate applications.
The system being demonstrated on the Christie booth in Hall 9, stand B30 at IBC in Amsterdam will show how a scrollable video tool illustrates a soccer highlights and plays, on demand, as the match is in play. Player and match stats will be displayed on demand, with on-the-fly annotation at any time, showing a user interface developed by Nytric Ltd., of Canada using Action Script 3 and authored in Adobe AIR runtime. It is an icon based touch and gesture controlled interface that allows access to many applications or layers of media.
